Subject:   Amendments to State of Hawaii Board of Engineers, Architects, Surveyors and Landscape Architects Rules:

Dear AIA Maui Members,

We have been advised by Amy Blagriff of the AIA Hawaii State Council that the Council is advocating for a proposed amendment to the Board of Engineers, Architects, Surveyors and Landscape Architects rules to allow architectural interns to take the NCARB architectural licensing exam as soon as they graduate from a NAAB accredited architectural degree program.

This is something we have discussed at AIA Maui meetings off and on for several years and I urge you to send your letter in support of the proposed amendment.  Letters should be sent to:

James Kobashigawa, Executive Officer
Board of Professional Engineers, Architects, Surveyors and Landscape Architects
State of Hawaii, Professional and Vocational Licensing Division.
P.O. Box 3469
Honolulu HI  96801

You will find a sample letter which outlines the issues you may want to address in your letter in the AIA Maui blog.

Sincerely,
Marie Kimmey AIA ME
