Guest Speaker:  Doug McLeod, County of Maui Energy Commissioner


Doug McLeod was appointed by Mayor Alan Arakawa in December of 2010 to serve as Maui's Energy Commissioner.  An experienced green builder, McLeod is charged with identifying County-owned facilities that are good candidates for renewable energy systems so that the cost of operating government buildings will be as low as possible.  Maui County is on the leading edge of renewable nergy development, and Doug advocates for renewable energy projects to benefit the people of Maui, Molokai, and Lanai in terms of economic development and jobs.

DCAB: Temporary Relocation

AIA Members:  We recieved the following email from DCAB regarding their temporary move.

PLEASE NOTE:  The Disability and Communication Access Board will be temporarily re-located while our entire building at 919 Ala Moana Blvd. is shut down for repairs.  We will be out of the office September 4 - 7, 2012 but hope to return by September 10, 2012.  WE WILL NOT BE ACCEPTING DELIVERY OF PLANS AND SPECIFICATIONS DURING THE TEMPORARY RE-LOCATION.  ALSO, PLANS AND SPECIFICATIONS WILL NOT BE AVAILABLE FOR PICK-UP.  PLEASE ARRANGE TO HAVE PLANS AND SPECIFICATIONS DELIVERED AND PICKED-UP AFTER WE RETURN.  Our phone lines will be forwarded, but may be very sporadic during that time.  Contacting us by e-mail is best.  Please contact us before the last week of August to ensure the best response.  Thank you for your patience and understanding during this inconvenience.
