NCARB System Alert

NCARB

ATTN: NCARB SYSTEM ALERT
All NCARB systems will be offline beginning noon on 3 April 2012 as we perform a major upgrade to our systems. We expect that the upgrade will be completed and access restored on 5 April 2012. During this outage, you will not be able to access your online NCARB Record, request transmittals, document experience, or renew your Record.
We ask for your patience during this time. NCARB staff will also be impacted by the systems outage and will be unable to access records or process transactions during this period. We do apologize for the inconvenience and appreciate your patience.

Here are a few things to keep in mind when interacting with NCARB over the next week:
Please access your Record through My NCARB during non-business hours and days.
If you need to renew your Record or request a transmittal of your Certificate, the best times to access My NCARB is Thursday-Sunday between 5 p.m. and 8 a.m. Our website experiences a significant decrease in visitors on weekends, which will be the best time to access our system.
If you are an IDP supervisor, please tell your interns to submit their IDP report(s) before April 3!
Interns must submit reports before April 3 to receive exemptions and waivers for the IDP 2.0 rollover. However, supervisors do not need to approve the reports prior to April 3. Reports approved after April 5 will still receive exemptions and/or waivers if applicable.
Thank you for your patience and understanding as we make this major improvement to our online reporting system.

Maui County - 2006 IBC/IRC Update

The Mayor signed both bills on Monday, 19 March 2012, for the IBC and IRC, but they found a typo in the IBC.  So only the IRC is in effect for the moment until Corp Council can determine the appropriate method for handling the problem.

The bill for the 2006 IRC also deleted the County Housing Code.

2012 NCARB Practice Analysis of Architecture Survey

Share your expertise
This April, NCARB is asking for approximately an hour of your time to participate in the 2012 NCARB Practice Analysis of Architecture Survey.
Your time is valuable—and so is your expertise. This survey, which can be completed in multiple short sessions, will inform several important programs and policies pertinent to the profession.
Survey participants will benefit from enhanced navigation and graphics, as well as new techniques such as matrix sampling, which tailors the number and focus of questions each participant receives.
When you receive the electronic survey, please respond—it's an important opportunity to give back to the profession and share your expertise. It's time well spent.

Public Meeting on FEMA Flood Maps - 12 March 2012

12 March 2012 (Monday) @ 4:00 PM - 7:00 PM
Presentation @ 5:30 PM

Location:
Hawaiian Islands Humpback Whale National Marine Sanctuary
726 S. Kihei Road

Important information on the Federal Emergency Management Agency's (FEMA) new digital flood insurance rate maps (DFIRMs) which integrate statewide hurricane risk will be discussed at a public meeting.  On 19 September 2012, a property's risk may change, and consequently so will the requirement for federally mandated flood insurance as well as changes to construction standards.

To assist residents, business owners, and consultants in understanding the map change process and to inform them of their options, there will be a public meeting.
