Recognition of Maui Architecture

AIA Maui members, architects, landscape architects, interior designers, and engineers are encouraged to submit completed Maui projects (projects completed after 01 January 2001) for appreciation by AIA Maui.  Owners, individual practitioners, private design firms, public agencies, civic organizations, and public interest groups may submit nominations for projects in which they were involved.

Deadline for submissions is 5:00 PM (HST) on 01 July 2011.  Registration is free.

NPAC Maui Update: North Shore Greenway

NPAC Maui County - Built Environment Task Force will be hosting an update on the North Shore Greenway.  David Goode, Director of Public Works, will provide the update.  Light refreshments will be served.

NPAC is also looking for volunteers to serve on the Complete Streets subcommittee.  Complete Streets volunteers will assist in the development and planning process to adopt a County Complete Streets resolution.

"DOE has heard the need for training to facilitiate energy efficiency through greater compliance with building energy codes.  In response, Energy Codes 2011 will provide hands-on training designed to assist stakeholders in complying with the Recovery Act target energy codes.  Polciy and Technical learning tracks will cover topics spanning code adoption through compliance.  Key topics will also be explored, such as the future of energy codes, results from the 90% code compliance pilot studies, green codes, a discussion of best practices states put into action as they push beyond the target codes, and updates from DOE's Building Energy Codes Program to help you achieve greater success in advancing building energy codes within your own profession."
